How do we use AI to inform and support educators and schools?
Problem Statement
AI has the potential to transform education by providing personalized learning experiences, improving administrative efficiency, and supporting educators. However, there are challenges related to implementation, equity, and privacy that need to be addressed.
Key Questions We Explore
- How can AI be used to enhance teaching and learning outcomes?
- What are the best practices for integrating AI into educational settings?
- How can we ensure that AI in education is accessible, equitable, and respects student privacy?
Our Approach
We combine research, professional learning, and policy development to support responsible AI adoption in education.
Investigate the effectiveness of AI tools in various educational contexts and identify best practices for their use.
Develop AI-driven resources and professional development programs to assist educators in integrating AI into their teaching.
Establish guidelines and frameworks to ensure that AI applications in education are fair, inclusive, and protect student data.
Develop interdisciplinary coursework on the topic of AI to present as part of the existing UCLA Cluster program, which is designed to help freshmen successfully transition to a higher-education environment.
Our Goal
Our goal is to empower educators and institutions with responsible, research-based AI tools that promote student learning, professional growth, and educational justice.
